Australia's food diary. Private by design.
Say what you ate. Get real Australian and New Zealand nutrition data, in kilojoules. No account, no ads, no subscription — the diary is free and yours.
Most food apps estimate your meal and hope for the best. Chockers reads your plate, but the numbers come from the Australian Food Composition Database and its New Zealand counterpart — and nothing is logged until you've checked it.
Say what you ate
Describe a meal in your own words or photograph your plate. Chockers recognises the foods and amounts, then shows you every item to check before anything is logged. Needs an iPhone with Apple Intelligence.
Real Australian & New Zealand data
42,000+ foods bundled in the app: the Australian Food Composition Database, AUSNUT 2023, New Zealand FOODfiles, manufacturers' nutrition panels and licensed Australian recipes. The numbers come from the data, never from the AI.
Barcodes and labels, offline
Scan a barcode or photograph a nutrition panel. Searches and barcode lookups run on your iPhone against the bundled data, so nothing you eat is sent to a food database.
Kilojoules first
Australian and New Zealand labels are in kilojoules, so Chockers stores energy that way. Prefer calories? Switch once and the whole app follows, targets included.
Nothing logs without you
Every meal is a draft until you confirm it. Unknown nutrients stay unknown instead of becoming zero, and planned meals never count as eaten.
Apple Health, your way
Optional and off by default. Write the food and water you log to Apple Health at the time you ate it, and read steps, workouts and weight to put your diary in context.
No account. No Chockers server. No analytics.
- Your diary lives on your iPhone and syncs through your own private iCloud, which we cannot read.
- Meal descriptions and photos are handled by Apple Intelligence, on your device or on Apple's Private Cloud Compute — never by a third-party AI provider. You can switch Private Cloud Compute off.
- Searching and scanning never touch the network.

Nutrient goals & trends
Daily goals and weekly trends for fibre, sugars, saturated fat, sodium, potassium, calcium, iron and cholesterol. Every nutrient is captured for everyone, so buying Plus reveals your history.
A week report for your dietitian
See the last seven days against every goal, then share a PDF or CSV made on your phone, with estimates and unknowns clearly marked.
Adaptive energy
Compares what you log with your weight trend to estimate what your body is really using, and proposes a target you choose whether to accept.
