Q: Is my data safe?

Absolutely. Athena is built on a privacy-first architecture. All document analysis and AI processing happens entirely on your device. We have zero access to your documents, health records, or any data you work with inside the app.

Q: Which devices does Athena support?

Athena requires macOS 26.1 or iPadOS 26.1 or later, on Apple Silicon. Intel Macs are not supported. All AI runs on-device, and where your device supports Apple Intelligence (Mac M1 or later; iPad Pro M1/M2/M4, iPad Air M1 or later, iPad mini A17 Pro), Apple's Foundation Models are the default engine for the fastest, highest-quality results. Where Foundation Models aren't available, Athena automatically uses its own Gemma 4 models — on Macs through Apple's MLX framework, on iPads through Google's LiteRT runtime. You can switch between Foundation Models and the local models in Settings; local models need a one-time download (~2.6–4.9 GB, started from Settings). On Macs with 24 GB or more of unified memory, larger Gemma 4 models (~11–16 GB) are available for stronger reading of complex medical records and deeper claim preparation. Every feature works either way, and nothing ever leaves your device.

How do I manage my subscription?

Athena subscriptions are managed through Apple. To view, change, or cancel your subscription:

On iPad: Go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

On Mac: Open the App Store → click your name → Account Settings → Subscriptions.

For billing enquiries or refund requests, please contact Apple Support directly, as Quay Elements does not process payments.

Which devices does Athena support?

Athena runs on iPads and Macs with Apple Silicon. The level of AI functionality depends on your device and operating system — see the System Requirements section below for full details.

How do I report a bug?

The easiest way to report a bug is directly from within Athena. Go to Settings → Support → Report a Problem. This opens your email app with device diagnostics pre-filled — including your device model, OS version, and app version — which helps us resolve issues faster.

No claim content or personal data is attached automatically.

Can I request a feature?

Can I adjust the text size?

Yes. You can zoom the entire app in or out to suit your eyes — with crisp scaling on Mac and Dynamic Type support on iPad.

System Requirements

Athena also ships its own Gemma 4 models for on-device use.
